zero_carbs
because spreadsheets can eat shit and die
Do you know how to do “complex” maths and calculate profit/loss and manage inventory from columns in Google Docs? Yeah? Amazing, I'm allllmost jealous.
For the rest of us who don't have time to google how to do simple things like calculate the sum of rows, there's zero_carbs. It's a simple, easy to use app where you just put in your purchases, add a listing when they go up for sale, and then mark them as sold when they sell. It's actually quite simple. There's minimal fuss and zero bloat. There's a few charts and stats that are fun and encouraging to look at too.

How it works:
Everyone's process is different, but if you're like me then we could really have something here!
What I do:
- I go to estate/garage sales and buy some items
- When I get home I create a new Purchase in zero_carbs and add all the items I bought
- Once I put them up for sale I make a new Listing in zero_carbs and select the items in the listing
- When it sells, I mark the Listing as “sold” in zero_carbs
It's just that simple
Who is this for?
Anyone really, but if you're like me and selling on Ebay isn't your full time job then this could be just what you're looking for.
But wait, reselling is your full time job? that's cool too, you can also use zero_carbs!
I just figured if you're pulling in the “big bucks” then you've already got some massive executive suite of tools that wipes your ass for you. But hey, welcome!
There's already plenty of software out there to track and manage your inventory, but I don't know about it. Seriously. I never even looked for an alternative. I had a problem: my inventory/sales were selling quicker than I expected and I needed a better way to track what items were coming in and going out. So I made zero_carbs because DIY everything.
Damn, I forgot to mention the best part...

“Ok I'm sold, how much is this gonna cost?”
Nothing! zero_carbs is free and open source for every/anyone to self host. There are a few proverbial hoops you'll have to jump through if you want to go that route, but I'm working on some easy-to-follow documentation to get up and running.
“I don't know the first thing about self-hosting and I don't have the time or patience to learn”
No problem! There's also a hosted version too! This means for $3.99 /mo you can use zero_carbs and have access to it from anywhere without having to do any confusing server stuff!
What if I get all set up and don't like it anymore?
Totally understandable. You can export your data anytime and take it with you wherever you go. I don't even want it.
There should be an app because my phone is like, my everything...
Don't worry I got you covered! zero_carbs has both Android and iOS apps so you never have to put your phone down again!
Well, where's the app??
I'm still trying to get a few features/documentation added, but everything should be up and running shortly!
Are you interested in beta testing?
The app is basically ready to go, but there might still be some bugs to work out. If you're interested in trying it out and providing some feedback on what you think about it I'll hook you up with the hosted version for free and it'll be free even after everything goes live!
